Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed various industries, including education. The integration of AI into educational systems has introduced a new era of personalized, efficient, and interactive learning experiences. This lesson explores the different aspects of AI in education, examining its benefits, challenges, and the potential future of AI-driven learning environments.

The Digitalisation of Education in Statutes

Digitalization of Education has a legal basis in accordance with the mandates of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, namely in Law Number 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Article 12 of Law Number 39 of 1999 on Human Rights, which states that everyone has the right to protection for the development of their personal identity, to obtain education, to enlighten themselves, and to improve their quality of life. In those statutes, it is implicit that the government urges the utilisation of technology in education.

AI (Artificial Technology) in Indonesia

The use of AI is clearly not prohibited by the government because AI is a part of technology, and technology is a mandatory component in the context of education. The following is a document released by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

In the document, the government explicitly states that lecturers and students have the right to use AI-based technology. However, several regulations regarding its use must be followed.
